Advisement

Academic advisement is handled in a unique way in the College of Life Sciences. All general administrative academic advisement is handled at the College level through Life Sciences Student Services. Then each major has a faculty member assigned as the Program Director.

Generally, the Life Sciences Student Services functions to check-off graduation requirements, coordinate internships, and certify graduation clearance. They don't know specifics about any major besides which classes each major requires. The Program Director and Administrator are the people to ask about class specifics, figuring out substitutions, or any other specific major-related question.

Perry Ridge, Ph.D. (Bioinformatics Program Director)

Dr. Perry Ridge serves as the Program Director for the Bioinformatics major. Any major-related questions should be directed to him. He is passionate about the program and is here to help each Bioinformatics major succeed.
